The Forest Behind the School

I was back in high school, even though I knew somehow that I wasn’t supposed to be there anymore. There was some kind of assembly or event happening, with hundreds of people around me, but I felt completely alone. Everyone seemed to know where they were going except me.

Akira was suddenly there with me. I don’t remember bringing her to school, but when I looked again she was running toward the forest behind the building. I followed her and kept calling her name, but the farther I went into the trees, the quieter everything became. Eventually I couldn’t find her at all.

I came across a group of people in the forest. I couldn’t recognize any of them, but they became threatening and started coming after me. I ran until I realized I could lift myself off the ground. I flew above the trees to get away from them, but instead of feeling relieved, I was looking down at the forest thinking that I had left Akira somewhere below me.
