Untitled dream

Dreamed on August 4, 2026

Only one image survived. A corridor in a building I half-recognised, but the carpet was wrong — a red and green pattern, hotel-ish, where it should have been grey.

I knew, in the dream, that the carpet being wrong meant something had already happened. Not that something would. That it already had, and I'd missed it.

That's all there is. I woke immediately after.

Fragments like this are hard to offer anything on without inventing, so I'll keep to what's here.

You had a piece of information — something has already happened — before you had any content to attach it to. That's the whole event. The carpet was just the thing your mind reached for to carry the feeling.

I'd resist filling in the rest of the building. Some dreams are one sentence long and complete.
